ReelBiz Videos
The BETR Project is a statewide Colorado initiative to better prepare middle and high school students for the workplace. Monarch has partnered with The BETR Project almost since its inception, providing video production and web site development and support.
Teachers and counselors bring Colorado companies into the classroom through the ReelBiz virtual tours. Students learn about potential employers, what they are looking for in their employees and how they can prepare for the workforce today.
Monarch has filmed and produced most of the Reelbiz videos at BETRProject.org. Rick Nashleanas, one of the principals of Monarch, operates completely solo, both interviewing and filming, decreasing the time and cost for The BETR Project personnel.
Emulating the Colorado community college system, Monarch organized the ReelBiz videos by functional area and by geography, allowing teachers, students and parents to browse and find organizations that are relevant to the students’ interests.
As many schools block video sharing web sites (such as YouTube), Monarch actually hosts all of the videos on BETRProject.org. Schools have BETRProject.org on their white list, allowing teachers and parents to easily view the videos.
In the second round of ReelBiz videos, Monarch has worked with a number of Colorado county workforce centers, highlighting local companies through the ReelBiz video format.
