AI Is Not Magic, But It Is Powerful

AI can do amazing things that feel magical. But AI systems are not magic. They are algorithms trained on large datasets that produce outputs based on patterns and probabilities. This is highly effective for many use cases and it's scope is unprecedented, but there are plenty of limitations that require careful validation.

• AI Lacks True Understanding - AI does not “understand” content in the way a human does. It identifies patterns and predicts outputs based on training data. 
• Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed - AI systems can and do produce errors (“hallucinations”). These outputs are often presented with high confidence, which makes them particularly risky if not reviewed. Any AI-generated output, especially code, must be validated before use. 
• Security and Data Sensitivity Risks - Using AI tools can introduce risk if sensitive data is shared without proper controls.
• Inconsistent Output Quality - AI does not produce the same result every time. The same prompt may result in significantly different outputs. 
• No Accountability or Ownership - AI does not take responsibility for its output. It cannot be held accountable for errors or poor decisions. Responsibility always remains with the development team implementing the solution.

Human Oversight is Non-negotiable

Any use of AI in the development process must be subject to review by experienced developers. All generated code needs to be validated against project requirements, accessibility standards, security best practices, and established development patterns. AI does not replace accountability.
